My Technology Journey
From ASP in the 2000s to cloud-native TypeScript today — here's how my tech stack evolved over 20+ years of building things.
The Early Days
Started programming at 10. After reading a book on ASP, I built my first server-side apps. Quickly discovered PHP and fell in love — the PHP & MySQL Bible was my gateway. WordPress became my go-to CMS, and I built applications in CodeIgniter and CakePHP.
Hardware & Embedded
Studied Metallurgical Engineering and dove into embedded systems. Used C for PIC16F microcontrollers for temperature sensor signal conditioning, and Arduino for automation projects — from steering a sailboat to running ping tests on my local network.
Mobile & Startups
Founded Easysubsea for underwater wireless communication. Built mobile apps with AngularJS and Ionic Framework. Started using Ruby on Rails for complex integrations with legacy applications, and Parse Platform for quick backends.
Cloud & Industrialization
Led development teams across Norway, Brazil, and India. Moved infrastructure to Azure, containerized everything with Docker, and discovered the power of infrastructure as code. Used Python for data science workloads with Connexion as a spec-first framework.
Modern Stack
Embraced TypeScript everywhere. Replaced Node with Bun, adopted Pulumi for IaC, and built full CI/CD pipelines. Component-driven development with Storybook, state colocation with Jotai, and monorepo management with Pants (Python) and Moon (TypeScript).
